John Windsor

COACH · WRITER · PHOTOGRAPHER

Hi!

There’s one constant in the Venn diagram of my life — seeing things that others don’t see, and bringing new ideas and momentum to life in sometimes unconventional ways.

In photography, that leads to experiencing an image from a very different perspective. In writing, it leads to insights that hadn’t been considered before. And in coaching, it helps people understand what’s holding them back, and find new paths for moving forward.

For the curious, here are my careers (in order): Broadway actor; MBA and global marketing director; novelist and stay-at-home dad for two baby boys; Silicon Valley VP of Marketing; presentation coach & top blogger; bootstrapped entrepreneur; and executive & life coach.

And there’s still so much to do!

Books

Don’t settle for a lesser life in your later years.

F*ck Retirement is both a no-holds barred manifesto against ageism and a step-by-step guide for people who want to reinvent themselves, regardless of how old they are. The book doesn’t demand that you keep working until your final days. Instead, it’s about making the most of your life at any age, in whatever way you design it, and with the greatest health and longevity you can achieve.

With chapters like “When Do You Become Old?” and “How To Be a Badass in Your 80s & 90s,” you’ll learn more about aging than you ever imagined. And with over 50 exercises in the book, you’ll dive deep to uncover what can sustain and inspire you for the rest of your days.

If you never again say “I’m old” after reading this book, my work is complete :)

The second American Revolution is about to begin . . .

“The time for words is through, gentlemen. Each one of you has preached to the world about the Founding Fathers.” His voice dropped to a whisper. “Now it’s time to be one.”

I wrote this in 1996. Got an agent and dozens of encouraging rejection letters, and received comments like: “Well-crafted and fast moving. If you like a plot with lots of unexpected twists and turns, you will love this book!”

But life had other plans for me. I finally self-published it in 2016, five years before January 6, 2021. Check out the cover I created. The parallels, both in image and story, are eerie.
